Manage Your Junk and Recycle Bin in Salesforce

If you ever accidently deleted a record, report, or dashboard thinking you would never see it again this video is for you. Salesforce allows you to recover a limited number of files from the recycle bin for 15 days. You can test this by “accidently” deleting one of your records.

We’ll try deleting a lead as an example. You can then navigate to the recycling bin on the bottom left of the screen in your sidebar.

Your recycling bin increases with your organization’s file storage, see your Salesforce.com help section for the calculation.

You have the option of filtering out your deleted items or your entire organization’s deleted files. This is if you have the permissions to do so. You can select a file to undelete and restore all the data records intact. This includes all related list items. Just be careful as to not empty your recycling bin.

Always remember to back-up your data because you never know when it will be needed.
